The firm settled another hotel insurance claim arising from Hurricane Ida for nearly $2 million. After the insurer had only paid the hotel owner about $400,000, Lane Law took the claim to court and was able to successfully resolve the case through mediation for nearly five times more than the insurer paid before suit. Although Lane Law attempts to resolve every claim amicably and expeditiously, sometimes the insurer refuses to act reasonably in resolving the claim before suit. When that happens, property owners should be represented by an experienced litigator with the willingness and ability to prosecute a lawsuit in state or federal court.
